Mission: The Office of Leadership Development works to create future generations of leaders who live and lead with integrity and meaning.

Vision: Our vision is that every Temple University student and alumni use their leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities to lead others towards positive change within the community.

Values: Creativity and Innovation, Excellence, Integrity, Inclusiveness, and Respect

History

The Office of Leadership Development started with the Student Leadership Challenge program, launched in the Fall of 2005 by a committee of university administrators. The Student Leadership Challenge Planning Committee reviewed numerous leadership development theories before selecting Kouzes and Posner’s (2007) The Leadership Challenge as a foundation. Using the LC as a highly-praised framework, the committee developed a Leadership Diamond Points system and seven components that comprise The Challenge. The parts intentionally allowed students to learn and practice leadership through a variety of formats. Click here to read more.

The Office of Leadership Development employs one full-time professional, two graduate externs and two undergraduate student interns/volunteers.
