Leaders In Training

The Office of Leadership Development is currently seeking dynamic and enthusiastic students to volunteer for our official event planning team.


We are currently accepting applications for the following positions: 

Job Title: Chair of Guest Accommodations 

Purpose: The Guest Accommodation Chairs make sure a guest has everything he/she needs to get the most out of the event from maps, schedules, and speaker info. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create a conference guidebook/pamphlet to be given to each attendee describing the day and each speaker session. 

  • Assist with reading Speaker Proposals and analyze those that seem like they would fit with our theme/overarching message and peak student interest. 

  • Coordinate what goes into Speaker Gifts as well as put them together. 

  • Serve as the volunteers who disperse the ‘swag bags’ at the end of the conference. 


Job Title: Chair of Promotions & Attractions 

Purpose: The Promotions and Attractions Chairs handle contest, raffles, auctions, giveaways, and games. 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Create promotional attractions along with their room logistics  

  • Collaborate with Creative Design Chair to streamline the theme for each room/attraction 

  • Coordinate sign-ups for time slots for the various attractions at each of the conferences 

  • Organize volunteers for each attraction 


Job Title: Chair of Venue/Show Floor 

Purpose: The Venue/Show Floor Chair is the main contact for the vendors, the sponsors while on-site, and the on-site volunteers and staff: security, photography, and food/beverage.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the point of contact for simple staff and volunteer questions
  • Encourage students to attend sessions who’s rooms are not as full 


Job Title: Chair of Creative Design 

Purpose: The Creative Design Chairs put together all the visual design for printed and web materials like schedules, collateral, registration, and signage.  

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Conceptualize ideas for the decor of the conference 

  • Collate supplies needed to create the decor 

  • Coordinate a volunteer team to fully decorate each space 

  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Social Media team to create a streamlined theme
